Penny Ikinger is thrilled to be making a special guest appearance at Charlie Owen’s Melbourne album launch shows, alongside Melbourne legends Joel Silbersher, Dan Brodie, Cam Butler and Kylie Greer. This is going to be one for the ages, folks!
Few Australian musicians have made such a lasting mark on the country’s musical landscape as multi-instrumentalist and producer Charlie Owen. So much so that Paul Kelly even wrote a song about him — Charlie Owen’s Slide Guitar.
Charlie’s new album marks another moment in the journey of the Searching for Charlie Owen shows. The album brings together songs revisited — some returned to their earliest form, while others have been completely reimagined.
These recordings are unmistakably Charlie Owen — where melody, atmosphere and a lifetime of musical exploration come together.
Opening both shows will be the wonderful Anouk Ely.
