PUNTERS CLUB REUNION SHOW – Presented by Leaps & Bound Festival, City of Yarra. Revered gig and festival booker Rich Moffat has programmed a special treat for longstanding Melbourne music lovers with a Punters Club Reunion Gig – paying homage to the iconic venue once located where Bimbo is today on Brunswick Street. You read correctly – on Sunday July 18 at Fitzroy Mills, the likes of Angie Hart (Frente), Bodyjar, Dallas Crane and The Meanies will come together to celebrate the Punters Club scene from the ’80s and ’90s. Penny Ikinger will be performing one song before she shoots around the corner to play at THE TOTE HOTEL, 67-71 Johnston Street, Collingwood in the front bar supporting James McCann’s new band J.J. McCann Transmission. Penny will play a full set at The Tote from 5.30pm.
James McCann has traversed the rock’n’roll spectrum, from dirty blues jams, to country, to abrasive 70s rock releasing several albums on BANG! Records ( Spain ) BEAST Records ( France ) & TORN and FRAYED ( Australia). McCann has also found time to collaborate with Spencer P Jones (Beasts of Bourbon, The Johnnys ), Nunchukka Superfly (featuring Ray Ahn and Peter Black from the Hard Ons), Damo Suzuki (Can), Brian Hooper (Beasts of Bourbon) and Penny Ikinger (Wet Taxis).

SUNDAY 25th JULY – SWAMPLANDS – 744 High Street, Thornbury for ‘Speaking in Tongues’. Penny Ikinger will be interviewed in depth by Matt Malone, from the radio show Hell or High Water. They’ll be chatting about her career and her journey through rock ‘n’ roll, live on stage. Penny will be playing a couple of songs live as well and screening some video footage from previous band performances and promotional videos.
